On Thursday, my new thing for the day was to offer one of my students, Roger, free group instruction for his high school golf team. He has been taking lessons for me for about five years now and he's just been great and worked really hard. He also has a great commitment to really coaching and teaching the kids he works with. So I decided to help him out and offer free instruction if they wanted to come as a group some time. We could maybe do four hour long sessions with the whole team and they would just have to pay for the golf balls. It seemed like the right thing to do and felt good. We'll see if they take me up on it.
On Friday, my new experience was to go look at an investment property and make an offer, or letter of intent, right after I saw it. It happens to be the first property I've looked at that has been cash flow positive right from the seller's asking price, so I figured I'd tie the property up. Don't worry, the offer is conditional and will be contingent on a whole lot of things happening before it's done. And it is non-binding too, so no real finality to it. It just means that no one else can do anything with it if the seller accepts the offer. I don't know, it just felt fun and a little scary to do it, but I know that I'm not tied into anything, so really no harm if we don't go ahead with it.
Anyway, I'm off to finish a couple of things I've put off. I must finish my UM application for the MBA, write my first article for the newspaper, and come up with a market survey for the fedoras for my students to fill out. Those are the tasks I've set out to finish by Monday, so I better get going! See ya, enjoy life and smile and laugh!
